There's nothing worse than a soaking downpour, your hair gets frizzy, your clothing gets wet and your day turns as gray as the sky. The worst of it? Most of us are never prepared when it hits. But you'll be all set with our tips for looking good on those rainy days!
First, beauty. It's hard to be prepared for inclement weather but when you know it’s going to rain or the drops have already started before you've left the house, then you have to keep your beauty simple! Your hair should be natural, if it’s curly don’t fight it, straightening a curly mane will only leave you with frizz. If you didn’t have an umbrella be sure to have a hair tie or something else to pull your hair back. Put it in a low pony, something a little loose, just so that your hair doesn't get wet and uncomfortably stick to your face or neck.
As for makeup, simplicity is the key word as well, heat and rain are the two environmental hazards to drippy and streaky makeup so stay away from face powders or creams, it's a good day to go natural.
Your next way to look fab in the rain is some good rain gear. Slickers and boots have come a long way and you can find them in different colors, sizes and patterns. Even designers are getting in on the trend. Get a bright color, to stand out. If you’re more of a pattern girl, get something with flowers or a print. Also the length is important too, you can get ankle rain boots or boots that reach knee high. Next, get yourself a matching umbrella! It doesn’t have to be the exact same color, if your boots have a pattern, a solid umbrella in the same color palette looks cute or vice versa. Rihanna has even come out with a line of umbrellas!
If rain boots are not really for you, then get yourself a rain coat or slicker. I’m not talking about the bright yellow you may be used too. Now stores are making cute colors and fabrics!
Hint: Stay away from donning the umbrella, slicker, rain boot ensemble. Pick two and stick with them.There are so many different colors and styles to experiment with and it’s never a good idea to match head to toe.
